News & Announcements Pertaining To The Forum


The Forum Program Committee
The Forum Program Committee is responsible for planning the annual Forum educational program presented at the AMA Interim Meeting. The Committee meets regularly via teleconference to discuss the development of the program. The 2007 Program Committee was chaired by Donald Schroeder, MD, from Eugene, OR.

The Forum selected the the following program for 2007 - "Health Reformation - States Take the Lead"!, which was held on Sunday, November 11, 2007 in Honolulu, HI. The program featured a distinguished panel of speakers from the states of California, Hawaii, Maine and Massachusetts, who addressed the status of health system reform in their respective states.

Speakers included:

Hawaii: Linda J. Rasmussen, MD, Immediate Past President, Hawaii Medical Association
California: Richard Frankenstein, MD, President, California Medical Association
Massachusetts: Jon M. Kingsdale, Ph.D., Executive Director, The Commonwealth Connector
Maine: Robert McAfee, MD, Chair of the Board, Dirigo Health System (and AMA past president)

A Q&A Session followed the presentations and The Forum provided AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for this activity.

This activity has was planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the Oklahoma State Medical Association and the Forum For Medical Affairs. The Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The OSMA designated this educational activity for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Forum Executive Committee
The Forum Executive Committee will next meet on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, in Stetson A (West Tower). A copy of the agenda and related materials for this meeting will be e-mailed to all Executive Committee members in advance of the meeting.
